If you do not like them, then do not buy them. Hoping they are discontinued does nothing for you, it will only sadden those who like them.

Probably wouldn't receive comments about hoping they are discontinued if this thread remained in the Modern Coin forum.

This forum used to be just the US Commemorative forum. It is now US Commemoratives and Non-Circulating Coinage (NCLT) forum, which matches the forum layouts of other countries like Australia and Canada.

NCLT are coins that were never intended to circulate. That is what the pucks are. It is a better fit here.

I am sorry if you do not understand, but no one else is complaining and I have already received several compliments for the move.

Enough. This is where it belongs and this is where it will stay.

Picked up the Grand Canyon one from a private collector recently. I have to say it is an absolutely beautiful coin...

Indeed it is a lovely coin. Crazy to think that was the 4th issue of the series around 5 years ago! Did you get the bullion or proof version?

I do too. When the series concludes in 2021.

I would have liked they had done these in gold as well.

Man I keep going to the other forums looking for this thread, forgetting it changed lol. I think putting it here is a pretty good idea, it mimics the other forums like Canada.

The best ones that I like are the ones with birds.

It is disappointing the mint is not dropping their prices tho, silver is hitting and dropping below key area in prices and the Mint does nada.. same with gold.

then I turn around and stalk ebay and I find these same coins for less than the mint... so it is hard for me to really want to purchase from the mint.

True story. Silver is almost at $14 and the pucks are still $150. Ouch. And yuck.

Can you IMAGINE a 5-oz gold puck?! Wow... that would be awesome. And probably $10k each.

I have a hard time believing someone will buy it at $150 and then sell for less, but who knows. I'll to do a search before I buy my next puck.

Helpful hit: use the 'New Posts' button to see all new posts in all forums since your last visit. It is a much more efficient way to get catch up on your CCF reading.

@celticknot

Well, all you have to do is look up the auctions for some of these recent pucks, the ones sold by the mint and you can see the auctions that have been completed, they are 10-15 dollar LESS than the mints issue price.

all one has to do is be patient, stalk and they show up.

Thanks, yup7676. I'll give it a whirl... just never thought to check as it's usually the other way 'round (more expensive on the 'bay than direct from US Mint).
