Latest data from the US Mint show that 35.8k Saratoga bullion coins were minted thus far. Given how popular these are in comparison to the P numismatic version I can only assume the US Mint will mint 45k again, similar to BLP & BH.

I got a roll of saratoga bullion but I'm not sure if I'll pop on 1 or 2 of the P. Next year will be brutal financially with the 2016 gold, the mark twain, the 30th ASE anniversary etc. Plus I REALLY like the teddy ATB and want to go big on both bullion and P versions. I hope it comes out in early '16!... time to start selling Overstock and stuff I'm not that into anymore lol

@Cascade: I'll bet you're not the only one thinking about going big on the TR bullion/unc. 5ozers. It really depends if they keep to a baseline of 65,000 coins or not. They'll probably raise the overall mintage as well as increase the number for TR alone, which might make it another Glacier or Olympic bullion. It's the unnoticed and unheralded bullion releases that seem get the highest secondary market premiums. Don't get me wrong, I like the TR design, however, I doubt the sleeper will come from that issue. Moultrie or Cumberland are better candidates as many dislike the designs. It'll be instructive to watch Saratoga in the aftermarket, whether 35.8K bullion is all or if there is going to be a second run. Realistically it'll be hard to sell 29K unc with a 100% premium and an unattractive design.

Very true bizy. I have a feeling it will be a high mintage BUT I'm thinking the design appeal will far outweigh a high mintage. Funny you mentioned glacier and Olympic because I think the TD, if a high mintage, will act like the gettysburg with decent premiums even though the mintage was high due to the cross collecible appeal of the issue. If by miracle the mintage is low all bets will be off

That was a quick sell out, surely wasn't due to the design of the puck. Will they sell out on the P pucks? Personally I'm thinking around 17-18K total will be sold for the P puck.

APs don't really care what the design is, in the initial sales, as long as they can get the pucks at a low silver buy price from the Mint. They know once the third party buyers come in after the release date of the bullion that will determine how much those buyers are willing to pay per coin. Think of the sales this way: pre-sales are primarily bullion driven while after release is numismatically driven. Strange, but that's how it was for the last three releases this year, with the pricing sheningans on the first day of pre-sales. I'll venture to say it's the blueprint for all future releases because of the mounting interest in the series.

Lower silver prices have definitely increased interest in puck collecting.

The Mint website did not crash today at noon while I was trying to purchase my new P puck :-) I am just guessing, but I think they won't sell out today.....haha. Hopefully these will be low mintage and make them worth more than their looks............

I could see the mint dropping the price on these by $20 starting next year. Is it worth the risk to hold out...?

No way to figure out how many of each issue the Mint plans to sell. This was made obvious with the BRP puck.

On the surface it looks like all available have a few thousand to go but....who knows.

Another point is that they are $5 cheaper now with the free shipping...I just ordered another Saratoga

Ya, I got 2 and I'm thinking about a 3rd. I have a feeling this may turn out to be an ugly duckling that's cancelled early. And I'm one of the odd ones that while I don't think it's a particularly stunning design, I do like it personally

When do the opening sales figures come out?
