I apologize to the die hard collectors of this series and do not mean any offense nor want to discourage anyone that likes this coin or thinking about it... but that design above me is so ugly, this coin will have a low mintage because it looks terrible.

sorry guys, carry on...

The animal cracker P puck will still sell as well as the other pucks due to how many people who want to keep their collection current whether they like the design or not. Demand might not be great during the initial offering because no one is in a big hurry to own it, they can wait and combine the purchase to save on shipping, which is how I am going to handle the purchase. This P puck will not be the lowest mintage. As soon as some speculators see it might be a low mintage they will start buying as well. This puck will sell at least 16.5 K I am guessing.

The problem with these pucks is that the unfavorable design just means that it (P) will be on sale forever

The EM bullion is already only around 8k below the Ft. Moultrie which only sold 27.9k ...low for a bullion puck

Sad but I'm not crazy about most this year. There were a few yrs where it was hard to decide which to get for family for Christmas! Last year was easy since the teddy Roosevelt was pretty much the only one both visited as well as nice design. This year who knows. I haven't decided yet.

The Ozarks design is my favorite by far.

My order shipped yesterday. It's not the best nor the worst design of the series in my view. I believe this may be the most difficult monument of all in the series to depict on a coin. That said, the design could have been better.

I'm planning to collect the entire "P" series.

I agree with CelticKnot, the Ozarks design looks very nice....I'm sure it will look terrific on the 5 oz size.

I had such high hopes for that one.

Opening sales for Effigy Mounds P were 14,363 - rather high I have to admit, given the general displeasure about the design.

I bet everyone thought nobody would buy it because of the design. Then everyone bought it to try to turn a profit if it ended up being rare. Now with decent sales and a lousy design I bet the price sinks like a rock.

Maybe if the beginning of the series. But now once there are so many most involved will pick up one to stay in the series. I will just get one. Not my choice for gifts this year.

Yup...Ft. Moultrie had initial sales of 14,582 which was described as "weak"...so EM was actually weaker by a couple hundred

There are at 16K P puck collectors out there, no matter what the design looks like. This Animal Cracker P puck will go at least 16.5 to 17.5K pucks sold. I am sure there are many like me waiting for some other coins from the mint to bundle a purchase and save on the shipping. I am in no hurry to have this puck in hand, but I need to have it to keep my collection current.
