Well hopefully they continue. The Mint did decrease the number to be minted to 25000 so maybe another decrease.

Also I wonder once a total amt to be minted is decided all are struck? My guess is they are since there aren't that many anyway. The 2011 is a good clue that even the 25000 isn't being met. I bet if lowered to maybe 15000 you would see how quickly the coins would be purchased. This may not happen if the cost is high though. I didn't buy any at the 279 price. I did get Gettysburg when lowered to 229. Once 204 I decided to pick up for this and actually next years Christmas gifts for my husband and kids!

A couple of things: it is good that they are only denominated 25 cents, especially as that is what they are worth to government as inheritable property, even though the intrinsic value is 1,000x the face value.

Another: the Mint should make them in batches during the year just like they do for the first spouse gold coins, and have them for sale for about a year. Following the rule of the ATB rolls and bags would be smart, retire the oldest design when the new release is ready for sale. If this were true Gettysburg would've been retired last month with 23-24K sold. 20,000 is really the limit for these pucks.

I think they should just mint 10,000 pucks and then do batches of 1000 through out the year to meet demand and then after a year quit selling that puck or after the last batch runs out. Does that make sense?

Yes I guess we were lucky the price stayed at 204 for as long ss it did. Last year when the price was lowered to 229 it was around 30 per oz and now silver has been at over 30 for a while. When lowered to 204 spot was around 27 or so

Why raise the price? They are not selling well at all.

They want a certain selling margin so they adjust PM products when the metals hit certain prices. For the P pucks their desired margin is rather high. Actually really high, they seem to want a 30%+ margin on them

One more to go for the year and then after that I guess it will be another 6 months of waiting to see if they continue this series in the P mint collector version.

Yes I know. Hopefully we will be able to get a few more. I am looking forward to some of the future NPs! I have visited many and would like to have the coins for both silver content as well as beauty

When calculating the markup on the P AtBs, it is only fair to give the mint the ~$10 it charges the APs for the bullion version and then add the cost of post strike vapor sandblasting each coin (don't have a number but it can't be cheap). They seem to kick the price on $5 spot increments, so from $35 to $40 in will be $230 ($46, 31%-15%). If silver hits $45 again, the price will be $280 ($56, 24%-12%). The percentage is higher at the lower prices because of the fixed costs. What we have is a $11 to $6 markup, $2 of which is the basic cost of striking, and I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of sandblasting was another $2. Individual handling and packaging isn't free either and is also a fixed cost.

Does anybody have an estimate of when the Denali bullion puck will be available? Should be pretty soon, right?
