exactly we love these "pucks" and to us it doesn't need any "value" every single one is a piece of art

Right after they raised the price to $230 silver dropped back down to $31. Hard to pay that kind of premium when you can get the bullion versions at many LCS for around $185. I will wait to see if the prices are brought back down. These are far nicer to look at then a 5oz generic bar.

I'm going to wait and see since I do a combined reason. I buy for collecting as well as price value to spot. I figure a nice item to have with intrinsic value. If silver rises worth a lot more but if it lowers a collector value as well. Win win!

I think I collect these things more out of an addiction than I do as an investment....haha. I'm sure some day these pucks will be worth more than I paid, but for now, for some reason I just have to own the mint and bullion versions. I even have a few slabs as well. Hard for me to stop buying these things. Big and beautiful, hard to beat :)

For how many large pieces you see out there, from 2 oz Libertads to bars, ugly Krugs, etc. I can't see how you can't fall in lov with ATBs.

I received the mint's catalog in the mail a few days ago and the prices for these ATB 5oz was listed at $204.95. The catalog come with an order form and envelope. It also list price form ASE W-mint and ASE Proof. None of the gold or platinum coins has price though. It's interesting to see the discrepancy and we'll see how long it take the mint to change the online price.

My guess is the catalog was printed long ago. The online price of $229.95 is correct for a while. There is small print in the catalog that says prices subject to change. Unless something has changed and I missed it you will not get them for $204.95.

I saw that catalog too, I would be surprised if they would sell the coins at the lower price. If someone on here decides to order through the mail let us know what happens.

Not gonna happen. That's a situation of: "pricing subject to change: call or see our website for up to date info. If you send in too little money based on the catalog's outdated price, we will not send you the goods."

Time to start saving for the last two 2012 issues. Hard to believe they say this will be a 56 coin or 280 oz adventure (560 oz if you collect both the bullion and P version). Spot silver isn't helping things today.

No it isn't. I have to get the last 2011 as well. I had been putting it off when silver was so low. I have Acadia as well as Hawaii but need the other 2012. I will wait on those unless silver really starts to go up. I need some of the silver 2011 proof quarters as well before year end

Why rush? I assume these will be for sale for many months, and silver may drop again.
