The mint has the new P pucks for sale now, is anyone going after one? Or is the plan to wait and see if the prices drop back to 204.95? I am trying to decide if I should wait since silver has been lower lately.

Waiting. I never bout at 279 and bout a few when lowered to 229. Most of what I bought was when silver spot was near the 204 previous price or not that much difference I should say. If silver spot goes up to a better deal at 229 I will pick up the few I don't have. Missing 10 11 12 and 15

Silvers pretty close to that drop back down point, of course theyre always slower to lower the price than raise it. Id wait unless you see sliver move up and stay up. I cant remember if its 35 or 40 that gets the next incre ASE

I am so happy with the quality of this series, and the mint offers them for so long, I am certainly in no hurry to buy Denali, altho I've been very excited in the design!

I received my bullion puck of the Denali from Provident, it looks just as good as Barry's picture, love the look and design of this coin (I say that about almost all of them). I just picked up a 2012 silver proof set and I thought the best one of the quarters was the Volcanoes. I guess the simplier design on such a small canvass makes it look better. The other coins have too much going on to look good that small. When I compare the standard quarter with the pucks, I do think the little guys are cute though....haha.

This announcement showed up on the Mint's website:

Quote:
Sales will end at 12:00 noon Eastern Time on December 31, 2012 for the following 2011-dated America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins honoring:

2011 Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania
2011 Glacier National Park in Montana
2011 Olympic National Park in Washington
2011 Vicksburg National Military Park in Mississippi
2011 Chickasaw National Recreational Area in Oklahoma

About time they took these off sale, don't you think? If the selling rates continue through the end of the year it would mean that for at least four of the coins would have a lower mintage than any of the 2010-Ps. Kind of changes the game on these now...

Yeah, about time, however I'm not so sure about game changing. Since there are so many, I tend to think over time the better designs will trump, so Mt Hood should always be desirable. Like Eric Jordan's theory on the sub-set of Liberty-designed spouse $10 gold coins.

denali, I shall wait a few months for, its the only one I'm missing for the complete set 2010-2012 so theres no rush right now depending on how silver fares of course.

I couldn't wait, I wanted to wait, but just couldn't and broke down and ordered a Denali P puck from the mint. I hope silver takes off now....haha. I'm glad to hear that sales are ending on the 2011 pucks, I wish they would do it at the end the coin mintage year instead of the following. Actually I wish they would mint to demand a 1000 pucks at a time and then sell off the rest at the end of the year. Then these coins might be worth more in the long run with a lower mintage.

It's so difficult to buy these guys at $230. $205 is much better. I'm hoping that Ag has its typical year-end meltdown (ahem) and we see $205 again. I still have to get Hawaii and Denali and would really love to save the $50.

@Teach, even if Ag takes off, it'll have to get to $46/oz for us to break even on the $229 offerings. But then... we don't collect these guys as investments per se, do we?

That's why they call it "coin collecting" not "coin investing" :)
