I got my Perry bullion today from Provident... 2 coins in a row from them that are not very nice. Scratches all over the obverse - and the coin looks less mirror like than any of the others I have gotten. Using the above scale... mine is closer to a 70 than a 100.

I bought my Perry from MCM, I hope I have better luck with quality. My White Mt. came from provident and it was supersweet DPML like. I'm pretty sure it was provident.

@doug58s: over at another blog posters were complaining about bad the quality of the Perry coin was from Provident. I don't believe that they cherry pick and could've gotten a badly produced monster box. The scratches in the field areas are due to polishing of the planchets that seems to be common to the bullion coins. I hope the Great Basin is better produced than than Perry, scratches in the field would be pretty obvious because of the negative space. Sorry that you've gotten yet another "second" You should call them and see if they will replace it with a better coin

Looks like that $179.95 pricing might be about done. Ag dipping below $19/oz.

I haven't purchased yet due to silvers losses. Hopefully the 179 decreases since it is getting close to double intrinsic value. I checked the mint earlier and nothing was taken off sale for repricing. Who knows with the big drop going on if pricing changes

They may wait till the weekend to see what happens, if a price change comes this week I would expect it to be thursday or more likely friday. Their past actions with lower prices makes me believe theyll give it a chance to recover which it usually does some after a big drop. If the recovery falls short of the loss especially far short though its usually a good sign more losses are on the way

My Perry puck from Provident is not the best either. The reverse is somewhat dull and has a small jagged scrape about 1/4 inch. Nowhere close to PL. I dare say maybe the worst puck I own now. Not sure what is going on with Provident, all of the past pucks have been much nicer. I might be done with the bullion and just stick with the P pucks.

MCM had the bullion Perry and White Mt. For less then $120 shipped this morning. In case anyone is interested. I think MCM always sends out quality stuff,at least the stuff I have gotten has been good.

I like the bullion coins... but I think I might be done with them as well, unless I stumble across one in a shop at just above spot prices. I've bought 4 of them so far and everytime feels like a $130+ roll of the dice and I keep getting snake eyes. The P pucks I have gotten are perfect so far - and I think I'd be better servered buying those and moving on.

tkflex - I saw that this morning as well. They were actively updating the price this morning and it floated down from $123 last night to $117 this morning. I was tempted to pull the trigger and figured I'd end up with more road rash coins.

I don't think they will, 5oz Great Basin was supposed to come out Thursday, new schedule says TBD. Betcha they release the last 3 within a couple of weeks of each other.

No more as of right now angel... but my wallet has taken a beating over the last 2 months - so it could use the time to recover anyway. :)

I wouldnt be the least bit surprised if they held off on releasing it until prices got more stable.

They really dont do themselves any favors waiting to try and cram them all into a couple months instead of spacing them out throughout the year more
