I have to agree with you Bizybackson. My son will born in November of this year so this will be a great coin for him. I do see great potential but probably wont be able to afford the 2nd coin..... unless I sell my other extra ATB coins and the Marry Todd Lincoln 1/2oz First Spouse gold coin (all at a loss, compare to the price I've paid).

So how do you think sales will be on this new GB puck, I haven't heard much talk about it recently? Does anybody have any current sales figures?

From the figures posted on Monday, 8/12 17,541 White Mountain 13,259 Perry's Victory 11,512 Great Basin
There will be a slight uptick of interest when the Fort McHenry P is released at the end of the month on 8/29, practically everyone's attention and money has been diverted to the reverse proof Buffalo this month. Look like this year's releases might have similar numbers to last year's final totals, probably 21K WM, 17K PV and between 15-16K for the remaining three pucks. The Mint just needs to have sufficient inventory to get to December, and they're not obligated to mint the entire 25K maximum. Extra coins to get and hold would be the Great Basin, Fort McHenry and Mount Rushmore. Not sure how long the $154.95 price tag is going to last, perhaps they might suspend sales if Ag goes above $23/oz.

I just picked up the first 3. Was surprised Perry was on back order. Not shipping until about the same time as my RP Buffalo. I have my fingers crossed that the price will stay the same for McHenry later this month and the free shipping will be nice.

Thanks Bizy...I hope the price holds for the last 2 pucks this year....we shall see. The GB puck might turn out to have the lowest mintage this year with the current factors involved. I could see the last 2 pucks having higher sales due to RP Buffalo sales and these last 2 pucks designs and importance.

I agree the GB may be the low for the year. The next 2 coins are already stirring up people - especially the Rushmore. I know I plan to buy a couple of those.

I know the last 2 are really the ones I want to be able to have.

I received my Great Basin and it's stunning.. I like it very much. I ordered the White Mountain, Perry's Victory (on b/o),and intend to get the remaining pucks hoping they hold or go under $154.95. I may be strange but I also liked the additional sleeve over packaging it just makes it feel a tad more special when I show it to others, I give the mint kudos for that.

Is the maximum mintage on the P 25000? I know with last year experience they didn't fulfil but this year with the lower price seems to be selling even though not that l known of parks for the most part so far at least! The last 2 are very well known.

My WM and GB coins showed up today. The WM is great. The GB has two scratches on the reverse from the rim in. Now I have to decide if I'm sending it back.
Anyone have experience sending these back? What does it cost?
I'm almost thinking of ordering another one and just put this away as bullion. I got it for $31 an oz. If it costs me $2 an oz ($10) to send it back I might as well just not go shopping for bullion at the LCS and keep it. It would cost me spot + $3.50 to buy something else local.

I would probably just keep it as long and the purchase of another won't be a burden due to the extra cost. With such high premiums on just just not worth the trouble to return

tpg22 contact the mint. It is my understanding that once you return the coin for replacement - they will refund your return shipping costs.

Thanks Doug58s, I will try that Thursday. Waiting on a proof Buffalo. If that one is not perfect I will send them both back.

Save the postal receipt from the return as well as the insurance slip, once they credit your return to your account, mail the slips along with the order number and they will send you a check refunding the cost of shipping. Have backup copies just in case. It takes a couple of weeks, well worth the effort. I returned a WM & PV pucks because they went down by $25 per coin after I had ordered them.
