In the UK we are finding more and more copies posted for sale on the ebay. People are buying reproductions after either filing of the C or repro mark then putting the coins up for sale. If they cannot remove the marks then they put a photograph which is not focused. This now adds to the problems were people downloaded other people photos and put the coin up for sale.

What is the solution?

We're having the same problem with a lot of Chinese fakes that are being sold on ebay.us. I know that the Chinese ones are legal to sell because China considers them "art" not counterfeits. ebay requires that "copy" or "replica" be in the title and the description of these auctions. They seem to be getting a little quicker to pull auctions that are reported. There is now a "Report this listing" link at the bottom of each auction also.

I would say to be sure to educate yourself and report any of these auctions that you find suspicious.

of course, the grading services are probably loving this, since it should drive more business to them.
