I went to check a few items I was going to possibly bid on and the listing was gone and it said "Item Unavailable -- Seller Currently Away". Now that's a new one for me, never seen that before. I hope this isn't an indication the seller has been kicked off ebay because they have been very good to deal with.

I don't think that's what it is. ebay gives the sellers an option to put a message if you are going to be away for a while (like on vacation, etc.) We have never actually used this since we email our customers anyway. Personally, I like it. This way you know that a seller you are interested in is not going to be gone forever, and should soon be listing again.

That actually worked to my advantage once. I found a Buy It Now unattributed VAM that a guy had in his store, and put it on Watch while I researched it. I decided it would make a nice addition, even at the (relatively) premium price. So, I went to pull the trigger, and the seller was off on vacation.

During the three weeks he was gone, it came to light that there were a lot more of that VAM than was previously thought. I ended up not buying it as a result, and saved myself over $100.
