Hi there. I'm just wondering if anyone knows a good seller that sells mixed lots of US coins or wheat cents? There is alot of sellers on ebay but some of them seem to be scammers claiming that rolls are unsearched when they are not and their feedback score is evident of their deceit. Other sellers who seem honest with a good rating will not ship to Canada or they are asking USPS Priority or Express shipping costs. For the most part, alot of the coins would have more of a numismatic value as opposed to high monetary value and not worth paying the $15-$25 in shipping.Anyways, thank you for any responses and have a great day.

Pretty difficult to prove truly unsearched coins.
Sometimes one gets lucky on a buy of a large lot though.
I always pick up larger lots of wheats if I come across
them. I used to sell them by the 1K or 3K. Think I still have around 6k left. I just weigh them and bag them up. I do not pick through them personally but I cannot actually say to anyone that they are unsearched. Maybe they were, maybe they were not. I sort of gave up on selling them by the larger lots as it is a lot of work for a min. profit. I found rolling them and selling them at my flea market by the roll makes for a better profit. People scoop them up @ $3.00 per roll. I sold in bulk @ 04.75 cents ea. (plus shipping) By the roll I got .06 cents ea.
The cost of shipping larger lots is now a factor.
Especially if by Int'l mail. Best way to go is by priority box however. What can you do ? Besides, selling wheats can either make you a hero or a villain :)
I've had raves about some lots and distain over others because no 09 vdb-s was found. It's a coin flip sometimes.
Overall though one usually makes out pretty well in the long run. Wheat cents are not going to get more plentiful
as time goes by. Then there is also the copper value issue.
That could double down the road also to 6 to 8 cents ea. or higher.

Thank you for the link John1. Seems like a pretty good resource to find them. I agree Indian1 that it would be pretty hard to state that any lot is truly unsearched. The title should state, "unsearched by the seller" or something to that effect. :) I don't mind taking my chances on ebay as I've got some pretty good deals there and sometimes I keep on forgetting to remind myself that the sellers are there to make a profit and some will do so by whatever means to cover their ebay fees and paypal fees, etc. Anyways, thanks again.

They don't technically have to be unsearched by the seller either. Lets say the seller gets 5000 wheat cents and searches through them and takes out every key date. Then the seller puts the remaining coins into a bucket. Then he rolls up the 50 of the pennies from the bucket. That is an unsearched roll.

He doesn't know what's in it. He knows what's not in it. But he doesn't know the exact breakdown of which dates are in the roll.

As to your original question. My suggestion is to hang out here for a while. Before long you'll be able to buy and sell from members here. I for one have a ton of teens - thirties wheats I'm getting ready to unload.
