There is a project underway that will shed some light on the 1948 Dollar information. As for the coin in question, I see things that raise questions. I am willing to wager that the silver content of the coin is higher than the RCM,s advertised 80%. In closing, watch the legends of the obverse for differances. A mintage of less than 17,000 used limited die numbers to manufacture. Font variance is important. :-)

What "things that raise questions" . That's a pretty vague statement to drop on someone considering a key date purchase. Please be specific for the poor guy.

Ugly, the research is soon to be released, however with trolls publishing information stolen from chat sites I am leary to give more info. I will add that the purchase of a raw 1948, or even a certified 48 in other than PCGS holders, you may be out of luck. The mystery of the low mintage with 44K available may cause issues of return policy.

No offense, I'll hold judgement until I read it with an open mind. Until then, that dollar looks fine, but recall I won't shell out more than a 100 bucks without seeing a coin in hand for a reason. Return policies are your friend on ebay.
