Not something I'd expect to find in an English provincial market:

Hard-Times-Token

cost me all of £3.00 ($4.80) too!

I'm aware that there are varieties, can anyone tie this one down for me?
Thanks,
Bob

Algan -

You have an HT-67 variety. Rulau lists it as having a rarity rating of R-1 (Common) on his Hard Times Rarity scale. (you can find more information on Rulau's scale here: http://www.novanumismatics.com/arti...rities.html)

$4.80 is a very fair price for the specimen.

Congrats on your acquisition! If not already a Hard Times token collector, hopefully your new specimen will inspire you to explore becoming one.

There are many interesting tokens in the Hard Times era; neat pictorials, too. Decent examples, VG-F, can often be obtained for $12-$20 or so. The subject token depicts the mythical phoenix, rising from the flames. If I recall correctly, the company that produced this one had rebuilt, following a fire.
