A big hello to all the US coin collectors on CCF from Manitoba!

Might have a chance to take a tour to ND in the next couple of weeks and was wondering if anybody knows how hard it would be for a Canadian to try and exchange some Canadian money for US coin rolls (half dollars, quarters, dimes, nickels) at a local bank?

Considering this is my first trip to the USA in 20 years I want to make the most of bringing back some cool circulated coins.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

My suggestion CoinCanuck would be to exchange your Canadian money for U.S. dollars before you go.

Where in North Dakota will you be? I'm in Grand Forks.

And why did you wait 20 years to visit?

Hey MatchBox,
Maybe next week or early Jan. We are thinking maybe Grand Forks, Minot and/or Fargo.

Did a quick google search for coin stores down in Grand Forks and got a couple of leads. :-)

It's probably going to be one of those trips that just happen (ie when my buddy can get the day off from family duties, etc.).

I guess I just got busy with life/work, etc. LOL

If you're in Grand Forks look me up. I'll show you around the town. Grand Forks only has one coin shop remaining. The other two closed. There are two in Fargo, one especially worth going to.

I'll be out of town starting next Wednesday December 14 to Dec 21.

Are you in Winnipeg?

Send me an e-mail.
