If you are a regular member of this forum you may have seen my post on silver strikes. Along with the 26 $10 Strikes I got 4 of these $20 strikes. They say .999 fine and weigh almost 1.3 ounces each how much silver are in each? Have you ever seen Strikes lie these?

if they really are .999 silver than whatever weight you read on the scale will be how much silver you've got (minus 0.001%)

Yeah, but are they GP .999, or .999 outer rings with GP brass core?

Then again, if tens are generally .65 oz, it makes sense that twenties would be 1.3 oz.

Most of the casino gaming tokens I have seen have brass parts somewhere on them. There seems to be quite a variety in these, though, so just about anything is possible. There are web sites that specialize in info on these things. You can do a Google search for them and find all kinds of info.

I can't imagine a Casino putting more than 40 bucks worth of silver into a $20 gaming chip.
If they are .999 silver Get a heap of them and walk away from the tables because you will have doubled your money without taking a bet

Well I would say it also depends on the age of the coins... If they are 10-20 years old, silver wasnt 30-40$ and ounce

The $20 strikes have 0.75 troy oz of silver and the outer ring is typically gold plated brass.

$10 strikes are 0.5 troy oz of silver and its outer ring is brass

$40 strikes are either 1.54 or 1.26 troy oz of silver depending on how new they are.

200 or $300 strikes are one troy pound of silver.

$20 silver strikes typically contain ~0.75oz silver along with heavy gold electroplating, both of them were issued in the mid-1990s.

ICSY has the explanation. As recently as Slick Willy, silver was under $4 an ounce.
