Is it just me or does the toning make it look like Lincoln has a black eye. Nice find though.

Sweet coin.

What a great find. All I ever found while working retail with access to the cash register was a Mercury dime and a few months ago a S & S sealed roll of Andrew Jackson dollar coins and 10 2011 Sac NIFC dollars.

Straight out of someone's collection into yours by way of a cash register. No way this Lincoln has been in circulation for 101 years or any length of time at all for that matter. Nice find!

Yeah, that thing is nicer than anything I've ever found n circulation. I've heard of some collectors from small town coin clubs putting valuable coins in circulation and advertising it in local newspapers hoping somebody finds them. They usually target early Lincolns. Who knows. I agree, this guy didn't circulate for 102 years, wonder if it was put out on purpose.

I think somebodys coin collection got nicked! Ouch - but finding one like that in such fantastic shape today? about the same as winning $1000 on the lottery I'd imagine.

I'd have to agree with merclover, probably came straight out of someone's collection. The circumstances of why is anybody's guess.

Good morning I told my dad about the coin last night. My dad said it is a older gentleman who is 81. he has been rolling up older coins for dollars and leaving tips with old coins in the past recent months. my dad did bring it to his attention but he said he knows.he comes in 7 days a week for the past 20 yrs. I was told he doesn't have any family left.

I would offer to pay him more for those rolls! Double face at least, and offer to split any great finds with him, tell him he's welcome to tip the staff or give it to charity but it would be more $$ no matter who gets it. Hope you can convince him before he runs out of his coins to roll!
