A friend of mine gave about 15 of these to me for helping him and I have a few questions. Each of the faces are on 1930 wheat cents with a clasp pin on the back. Does anyone know if there were a bunch of them to make a set or was it just these three for that matter who made them and why? Any info out there?

They're known as a "Punch Out", and probably a few other names. They're a novelty item. I think most I've seen are pretty cool, but some have been done poorly. They're not part of a "set", just people who have the dies to make them. They've been around for a while, as far as I can tell.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Those are simply novelty items, not really part of any "set." They are still extremely interesting to own in my opinion soon and I plan on purchasing a couple soon just for fun!

Those are very nice Popouts, a search for popouts on ebay will show you they would sell quite well.
I plan on starting a collection of those as well as I think they are beautiful.

really cool little coins
I have seen people post pictures of them a few times on the forum. Something I might grab one day in the future. I would trade something for one if you would be interested

I would trade you a nice Roman Coin for one, but I am under 50 posts so not sure if we could exchange addresses if you were interested in that.

Coindog,
According to the rules;"You must have at least 50 quality* posts and have been a member for at least 14 days to buy or respond to a trade.'
And when I click on your profile I see no contact Info.
I will have the 50 posts soon but I will not have been a member for 14 days untill after Christmas.
If you would hold onto one of each of the types of pins you have I will contact you as soon as it is possiable for me to do so.
Then We can work out some type of trade/sale.
Respectfully,
Tim

The word for today is Repousse.
"The word repoussé is French and means "pushed up", ultimately from Latin pulsare, which means "to push". Repoussage is actually the correct noun to refer to the technique, with repoussé being an adjective referring to a piece to which the technique has been applied (e.g. "repoussé work", "repoussé piece"); however, in English it has become common to use repoussé as a noun, and this usage is reflected in this article."
