I Bought this stack of fused Roman Coins a number of years ago as a green blob.
Cleaned the front and back coins-not expecting much as there were no details visable- to reveal Constantine and Galeria Valeria (the coolest name ever).
There is a coin of Maximinus trapped in the middle.
Just wanted to share a neat piece.

How would they have gotten fused together? Did they fall in a sticky swamp or something?

Check again and see if you don't agree that the bottom coin is Constantius I, father of Constantine?

I love the coins, but is there no way to separate them? What a shame to see such nice coins just in a big lump IMHO. BTW that a nice obverse of the Galeria Valeria.

Dougsmit;
Thanks for the Id--all the Constantines have always confused me.
I bought this stack and a stack of Four AE3's that I tried to seperate after a long soak and it broke to pieces so I decided to leave this one as is.
Attached is a picture of both stacks as I bought them.

I doubt that if you were to be successful in separating the coins, you find any detail at all on the coins' interfaces.

Agreed---I will not try to seperate these--a good conversation piece at least.
