pginrh Valued Member Canada 456 Posts	Posted 12/13/2011 6:31 pm I can't say I ever noticed a difference in the size of the A's in better quality coins. The only real 1958 varieties that I am aware of are the 1958 dot (under 3rd A) and a number of die chips 'caps' in different configurations on top of the letters of 'CANADA' and date '1958' or inside the A's. Zoell documented at least 4 of these Die Chip combos and I know of at least 4 others. They are pretty common. Edited by pginrh 12/13/2011 6:34 pm Report this Post to the Staff

pginrh Valued Member Canada 456 Posts	Posted 12/15/2011 07:50 am Wert, went back through my collection and the second 'A' does appear smaller all through the 1940s and through the 1950's until 1959 when the design changed. The hole in the second 'A' is much smaller then the first or third 'A'.... but it looks like that is true for all of them, and the exception would be if there is a second 'A' that is the same as the others.
