Several months back, I won a couple ebay auctions from a woman who couldn't find all the coins she offered. She wouldn't take any money from me and instead sent me what she could scrounge up. This is one of the things she sent:

First-Roman-Coin
First-Roman-Coin

First-Roman-Coin
First-Roman-Coin

Would welcome thoughts on identification, authenticity, condition, value, etc. TIA

I'm not knowledgable enough to offer an opinion as to authenticity and grade, but this is a great coin! I love the history behind the ancients.

It's a late Roman, somewhere in the 300's AD - I can't be much more specific with those pics (and you're probably pushing it to get better ones of that coin. My instincts are either Constans or Valens (Valens would be my guess) - it looks like an emperor with a short name. I can't make much out of the reverse type, but the mint looks more like Siscia than anything else. (I think it reads ASIS-something).

Cleaned, unattributed Romans normally sell for a couple of dollars.
