I decided to make a true attempt at taking some nice pictures of some of my coin varieties. So I setup a tripod, put some decent lighting up and used an 18 mega pixel camera. I wanted to try to get good pics of the RPDs, MPDs and DDOs and to get microscope close pictures with a camera. Here are the results. I am fairly happy with them, but I can still improve. Enjoy!
Nice pics, but they puzzle me. Your higher-magnification pics are sharper than your lower-mag ones. This is not the normal way things go... What did you use to take these pics?

I agree, real nice pix, and the close ups are clearer. Better lens? Have you tried scanning your coins on a flat bed scanner. They really show the detail.
