to CCF. The obverse looks like a die crack and is not anything special. The reverse below the building,if that's what you are referring to is remnants of a die clash and is a nice one. I don't know if it would add any value to it though but I would put it in a 2x2 cardboard holder. Congrats on you find. John1

Looks like die chips on the reverse. Here is an overlay to show it wouldn't be part of a clash: The obverse, still not sure if that is raised or incuse. Incuse damage - raised die damage.

Coop, I think it is a clash. It looks like if it was slightly lower, those could be remnants of the eyes from the obverse. You can even see the pupils, and what looks like the bridge of the nose in between. At least that is what I'm seeing.

I was just looking at some old posts...is it too late to comment on this one?
It looks like a clash to me too - I also see a "clash mark" through the doorway above the E.
But the eyes seem like they have been flipped?

It is a die clash. I've come to a new understanding on rotation of some dies during a clash. That throws off the normal location of a clash on my overlay. Note the window on the porch. It is a die clash.

Coop - thanks - can you tell me what is the difference between the 2 overlays in this thread? I am confused about how flipping for overlays is done {I can do it - not a technical question) and why if I turn the first overlay upside down it looks different than the second one. I know that I am dense!

Okay...I want to see if I have this figured out:
If the suspected clash is on the reverse, you flip the obverse and rotate 180' and superimpose.
If the suspected clash is on the obverse, you flip the reverse and rotate 180' and superimpose.
Does that work?
