I have recently bought, what he called a 1888 dd Morgan silver dollar. Supposedly it has the "s" stamped over the "o". Has anybody heard of this or has any info. When I receive it I will post some pictures. Here is a link of the auction but the pictures is not the best. http://www.webstore.com/1888-DD-Mor...tion_details Thanks for the help.

Welcome to Coin Community, doccholiday. To the best of my knowledge, although some S/S mint mark stamps are known for 1888, there are no known "S/O" or even "O/S" varieties.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it's my opinion that the coin you purchased went for approximately three times its' true value.

Oh well, I will still post some pictures of it if it looks suspicious.
