I'm visiting New Orleans this week and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any cool coin shops or booths? Better yet, any places I should stay out of?

Thanks!

I would definitely visit James H. Cohen & Sons on Royal Street in the French Quarter. You will be in awe of what is in that store. Going in there is like a sightseeing trip in itself. I could spend hours in there!

Also visit Southern Coins and Precious Metals on Zenith Street in Metairie (right outside of New Orleans). This shop is not as flamboyant as Cohen and Sons, but its what inside that counts.

Actually, Metairie is between Kenner (where the airport is) and New Orleans. Both places I recommended have been around for many years and are reputable.

Have fun.
