Don't have the funds in place this year unfortunately, if I got there I wouldn't have any left to spend and what's the fun in that?

I go to about 2 to 4 coin shows a Month around where I live. All are within about 15 miles of me. I go so often I know many of the repeat dealers well. Most tell me they are going to that show since they make so much money there. One dealer mentioned table rentals are $500 and up there. When you add in the traveling expenses, rooms, food, etc. a dealer must raise coin prices excessively to make up for all that. Although this show is one of the largest around, it is also the most expensive. So if your going, watch the prices well.

I'm planning to take a day to see the spectacle. Living in Florida makes it easy to drop by. I'm always amazed at the sheer size of the FUN show. Even with good walking shoes, I'm always hobbling when I get back to my vehicle. Dealers come from everywhere and bring some amazing coins. Unlike other shows I've attended, being at the FUN show can start to feel like being at a coin museum. Seeing three or four coins you thought you'd never see in a short period of time can have that effect. I wouldn't want all shows to be like that but I really enjoy it once a year. Competition between dealers ensures that there are plenty of regular coins at typical show prices for those of us who aren't shopping for museum pieces.

I have been to FUN in the past, but not this year. It seems that more out of state dealers and collectors are being careful about travel expenses and shows, and I'm among them.
