1976 Kennedy Half Dollar Rim And Laminating Errors?

ROH1983 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 12/27/2011 9:07 pm I've had this 1976 Kennedy half dollar for some time. I've always found it interesting because it appears to have a few errors that occured during the minting process. The outside edge has smooth bumps, and the coin appears to be a normal width in some areas, and slightly wider in others. There are also areas around the outside rim, that are supposed to be raised above the surface of the face of the coin, but are flat. There also appears to be what I think is a laminating error on the back. I'm just wondering what everyone's oppinion is, and if this is thought to be a rare find. Thanks in advance for your feedback. Right now I think this coin was damaged outside of the mint and is not an error but closer pics might change my mind. Report this Post to the Staff

If it helps, the bumpts are out side the raised rim line that circles the coin, and are copper in color Report this Post to the Staff
