I've had this 1976 Kennedy half dollar for some time. I've always found it interesting because it appears to have a few errors that occured during the minting process. The outside edge has smooth bumps, and the coin appears to be a normal width in some areas, and slightly wider in others. There are also areas around the outside rim, that are supposed to be raised above the surface of the face of the coin, but are flat. There also appears to be what I think is a laminating error on the back. I'm just wondering what everyone's oppinion is, and if this is thought to be a rare find. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

The reverse looks like it took a hit.I will defer to the experts as to what is going on with the rim.

Can you get closer pics of the areas on the rim that are flat and of the edge of the coin? Right now I think this coin was damaged outside of the mint and is not an error but closer pics might change my mind.

It's probably the best I can do with the camera I have. It took me a while just to get those three. If it helps, the bumpts are out side the raised rim line that circles the coin, and are copper in color

Ok here are a couple of pictures that should be a little better. I did some editing to enhance the coppor color of the bumps.

Indent on reverse is PMD, some of the rim stuff may also be PMD (a vice, perhaps), but I am baffled by most of it.

You can see the reeding on the edge, and the dark stuff extends from it and looks like glue.

Unless I miss my guess, that's an Irish sixpence.
