Hi there. The reverse of this '63 penny shows the initials KG raised by what I believe is trapped gas. In this case I'm not sure if corrosion can be the culprit. Also, the shape barely clips the last A in CANADA.

Given everything else being equal, I think you're likely right. I've often wanted to cut those open and see what in there ... sort of an impulse thought.
Thanks! If I had a few more of these, I'd be tempted to see what's underneath. The example shown above is in such poor shape, that a look inside might happen sometime down the road.
