Hi, I have a few Netherlands Juliana 10 cents coins from the 60's era and all seem to have a sort of gold wash on the reverse, the obverse remaining the normal silver colour. The 25 cent coin is the same. Looks like a sort of gold coloured clear varnish.
Does anyone know what the coating is and why they did this; just curious. Googling didn't bring up any explanations.
Thanks,
Mike.
