Well, it's possible that there are differences between old coin. In those days they used the dies till they were worn out, so there is a possibility that you can have some differences and errors compared to over coins. The photo you used to compare is of a coin in perfect detail, and probably is one of the first minted so there should be no errors and great striking on it.

Yours looks real, but a quick way to determine if it is it to put a magnet to it and weigh it. Nice coin!

Only 2 varieties from this mint(St Petersburg) are known to exist from this particular year-short and long ribbons.Should weight 20.73g and diam about 35.5mm with smooth edge with description.

danielus- Interesting coin! One thing to keep in mind is that Russian coins were fairly poorly made until about the 1880s or so. So it is possible that your coin is from a worn or re-engraved die. Some of the best ways to determine the authenticity of a coin is to weigh it, see if it rings of silver, and to look at the coin's edges in order to see if it shows signs of faking, such as casting. Have you weighed the coin yet? Do you know how much authentic examples should weigh?

Looks ok to me. What's the weight of the coin? Please show us the edge of the coin if possible.
