I have a 1954 5 dollar bill that is slightly off centre, and is on a slant going up. Is this normal for bank notes, or is this one of a kind? Is it just the way they print them?

It's off-center, yes. But not enough to have a premium over it's original value. You would have to have the image out of the frame of the note to have a true off-center.

i bought it for $15 so could it be anything over that? and on google, I typed in canadian $5 1954, looking to find other off centres, but I looked at the signature and mine wasnt in the same spot as his? The beattie signature was over the lettering to the left, were it says " WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND" ? is mine not in the right spot or is his?

If you paid $15.00 dollars, you paid $10.00 too much.

Here are a couple of bills for you to look at...Top one is cut close to the top and the bottom one is cut off at the right....As far as I know they have a value of $2.00...It would have to be a very unusual error to be worth more money.

Your situation is very common in any kinds of printing. (Paper money, documents, etc.)
