I went to a very small local coin show this morning. There were only two dealers who had any Ancients at all, and most were near worthless slugs selling for $5 each. However, I found two coins upon which to spend my money. The first is a Julia Domna Denarius RIC 583: OBV: IVLIA AVGVSTA, draped bust right REV: VESTA MATER, Vesta seated left, holding Palladium and sceptre The second coin I'm having trouble identifying. I know I've seen it before, but, for the life of me, I can't seem to put my finger on it. I believe it to be Constantine I, but it could be any of the Constantine family. I'd appreciate some help if you recognize it:

I'm afraid that the second coin is a fake. They show up from time to time and several have been posted here that look almost identical to yours.

The fabric or metal doesn't look right to me either. I think it's a fake as well, even not seeing one before.

The "fabric" looks good in hand. This could be a fake, but I'm not convinced just yet. What coin is it? If I knew what the attribution is, I could do some further checking, such as forgerynetwork. I just don't know where to look. Thanks for the input.

It is a fake with obverse of Constantine the Great 307-337 A.D. and reverse of a Judean widows mite of Antoninus Felix, Roman Procurator under Claudius, 52 - 60 A.D. I suspect they were first made to glue to a card and show two different ancients for some promotion but all I really know is that it is one of the most common fakes seen in the last decade.

Well. I never! Man I spent all day lookin for this booger and it's a fake. Hmmph! Well, I will just have to get my 3 bucks back. Actually, the seller said he had some very nice coins in his shop in Ft Myers, Fl. He said he didn't bring them because he hardly has anyone asking for Ancients. So, I will just give him a call tomorrow to let him know it was fake and I do believe he will refund my money or he will not be getting any business from me. Thanks for everyone's input. Too bad about the coin though.

I just received an email from the seller who said he would offer a 100% refund. Oh well. Live and learn.

I would just keep it and throw it into a bag or throw it out to prevent it from circulating again. $3 ain't a total loss.
I'm just curious though. How much did you pay for the Julia Domna denarius?
