During a recent sort I came across a zinc colored 1993D cent. I know there are examples out there of cents minted without their copper jacket. What is the first thing to look for to figure out if it's been plated or chemically striped of the copper or if it is a true cent minted without the copper jacket.

I can add a pic later.

THANKS!

A look at the rim area might show if there was any copper plating remaining. If so, it has been stripped.

On an unplated cent you would see smooth fields. No poor rinsing bumps should not be present.

Hope this helps?

I found this 2011 Lincoln yesterday inside a bank-wrapped roll.
