Got mine on order. Not too excited, but it really does seem like a cool coin. I guess maybe I am just burnt out from the holidays...

Dang! Wish I knew about pre-ordering to save a few bucks. I signed onto the US Mint website at 12:03 PM and it took me 23 minutes to complete my order, because of all the traffic, I suppose.

I logged on from work yesterday at about 12:30pm to purchase the proof version. It took me almost 30 minutes to complete the transaction.

I purchased 2 BUs and 2 Proofs and have already rec'd them. They are very nice, they are not loose in the case and the cases were not cracked. A+ this time around.

I received my proof as well. Still waiting for the circ. It is a very nice commemorative in hand, and the etching on the obverse is very nice. I especially like the "Founding Jamestown" and date inscription recessed through the design.

I got a silver Proof as a surprise late Valentine's present from my dad! I'd rather have a coin than chocolate- the coin will last longer! Really nice coin, the detail is incredible. I think I might like the reverse better than the obverse... Is it just me, or does the Indian look kinda ticked off? Maybe he had an idea what was gonna happen in the future? "Uh, oh... There goes the neighborhood."

I have a complete collection of modern unc. silver commems. so I ordered 1 silver unc. Though I havn't received yet, the pix look really nice. I enjoy the historical aspect of coins and prefer the unc. to proof because of the variations. To me modern proofs are boringly alike and are all PF69 or 70.

If you think the silver is beautiful, then check out the gold proof. That has to be one of my favorite coins. I especially like the fact that the mint chose the Jamestown Memorial Church for the reverse. I'm really happy to own one.
Rest in Peace

These are very attractive coins.

Is it still possible to order them through the mint?

I don't see these selling out. Right now both silver and the uncirculated gold aren't expected to ship unitl mid to late March.

Interesting, the $5 gold proof is only $10 more than the uncirculated one. I wonder why someone would buy the unc for $245 when the proof is only $255. I'm tempted but I think I'm going to wait a bit and buy the 2007 AGEs. I find it hard to resist those fractional pieces, may even pick up an ounce coin this year. Hey, any word on the fractional Buffaloes?
