I have 3 commemorative "dollar" tokens that were made by the Papel Mint, Hollywood, CA, dated 1980 and stated "not legal tender". I have been unable to find any info about these coins, their composition, or value. If anyone has experience with these, please help!

Just by experience everyone is going to ask for a picture and it`s going to help identifying what you have.

I actually have 3 of them. I searched them and found a couple on ebay, but it seemed they also knew nothing as to the value, etc. Here are the pictures, I hope they come out so everyone can see!

A little information regarding the sets as follows:
SO CALLED DOLLARS
California Commemorative Dollar. Produced by Papel Mint in 1979, one of a 50-token set; comes in protective plastic mounted on card showing mintage of 10,000. Hawaii State Commemorative Dollar. Produced by Papel Mint in 1979, one of a 50-token set; comes in protective plastic mounted on card showing mintage of 10,000. Nevada Commemorative Dollar. Produced by Papel Mint in 1980, one of a 50-token set; comes in protective plastic mounted on card showing mintage of 10,000. New York Commemorative Dollar. Produced by Papel Mint in 1980, one of a 50-token set; comes in protective plastic mounted on card showing mintage of 10,000.
I would assume your 1980 ones may also be one of a 50 token set...

Can anyone give me any info on the composition and/or estimated value? I saw the two on ebay and one was priced at $2.50 and the other at $10, but I don't think they know the value any better than I do!

Hi! My name is Elena, I´m from Russia, Ufa. I've got one of those tokens, it was minted in CA, 1980. It's South Dakota Dollar. Will you guys please provide me with some information about these tokens? I mean, any web-site, any article about these "dollars" will be great for me. I'm trying to find the information and the possibility to buy these tokens. Thank you in advance!

Can't add anything else other than they are one of the separate people from their money coin type "issues" they sell in newspapers and magazines. Like with plates and other collector dust catchers. They aren't worth much and will never reach the hype potential of the original ads promised. Like a lot of things in life, they are worth what a person that wants them is willing to pay for them. They can be found in the junque bin @ the LCS $1.00 up Only on ebay could you find somebody to buy them for $10.00 They fit in with the colorized coins, and the gold coated Kenndey dollars/moon landing anniversary coins etc.
