Hi there. I hope I have found the appropriate location for this post.

I'm wondering what this piece might be graded as. It's in a 2x2 flip (those waves are the mylar). Hopefully the photographs show well enough.

Thanks for taking a look!

While I think it is MS-something (I'm not really a grader), my question is different:
What is this thing? Who issued it and for what purpose? Just a (non-legal tender) bullion? What about similar pieces in Cu-Ni?

Thanks for the questions. The piece shown was a gift when I began

this hobby about three years ago. From what I know, it's part of a

nature series issued in 1997. I've been trying to find it on the web

but can't get any hits. I'll keep trying!

The reason for my questions is that Norway is NOT a part of eurozone, never was, nor is planning to go there (as far as I know). So this "coin" cannot be of any official issue. The fact that it was a private issue could be the reason you can't find the info on it.

Yes, I found a bit more information. You are right, it is not an official issue. It must have been a private issue commemorating the 1997 millennium of Trondheim itself.

I'm so sorry if anything was misleading.
Rest in Peace

Thanks B, and yes, it was a great gift. It will be handed down, but I'll be sure to attach a note describing it in complete detail! I'd better stick to my nickels and cents...
