didn't I ask you not to open this got ya Well I was doing you know what when I come across these 2 coins and thought I should share Here I think we have some young'uns have heard someone say "when I was a kid we put coins on the train track" and they thought well let's try this not realising that we used 97% copper 1 & 2 coins and those a little older would have used pennies and the like and seen them grow..well flatten out anyway So what I think we have here from left to right is a nice 2010 ok nick then in the middle we one that has been hit by a train or something bloody heavy and slow and the last I think has been on the road for as long a the rolling stones See how the middle one has a strange copper tinge and it feels extreamly smooth so I'm pretty sure it's a train job and the road kill on the right, well what more could you say I apologise for the very distressing images but hope you enjoy Screen play by ausjack Sound and lighting by ausjack All images by ausjack No coins were hurt during the making of this show and I DIDN'T DO IT THE END thank you thank you

What, no 1972! That would be distressing. Send me your address and I will post plenty more ones just like these. Other denominations too. Jeff

I am fairly sure that a coin left on train tracks would be much flatter than the middle one. I would say the middle one is road kill. I have a dime much like the one on the right. sorry for those graphic images

that wasnt done by a train track, would be much flatter and smoother, usually with 1 side not as thin as the other due to the curve of the track, if you got them right on the inside of the wheel you couldnt tell it was a coin anymore.

Quote: didn't I ask you not to open this I only opened it because I thought it was spam I'd have to delete. But since I'm here, I'll make a comment. Quote: See how the middle one has a strange copper tinge and it feels extreamly smooth... The discolouration on #2 makes me think it's been in a chemically hostile environment. I'm thinking maybe it's been fried up on a hotplate until the high points started to melt, then flipped over and had the other side done. Coinage cupronickel melts at about 1400 degrees C, so it's have to be a pretty darn hot hotplate.

Fuzzy, that is some serious road kill. You should win the ugliest coin award. And I agree. If a coin was run over by a train, it would be more flattened than an elongated coin.

I used to have allot of train US coins because we lived right next to the tracks and when we were kids we would do it all the time, allot of them we never found

the bigger coins where always harder to find for us too, getting a flattened 20 was an achievement that put you on the awesome list for the day.
