One of the great things about collecting coins and bullion is the amazing variety of things available to buy. Items with great designs / artwork are likely to cost more than a simple 1-oz. silver round or bar. In some cases, it is worth the extra cost if we REALLY like the design. Otherwise, stick to the basic bar or round and get the most silver for your money.

My wife doesn't really care if I buy silver or not. It's pretty much my thing and not hers. I am spending my own money, which we keep separate. We have a hers, mine, and ours thing going as far as money is concerned. As long as I can fund the "ours" fund that pays the household bills, she doesn't care what I spend on my hobby.

Amen to that, Bro! Buying silver, for me anyway, is not spending money. It is merely converting one form of money into another. Uncle Ben notwithstanding, silver and gold ARE money... and have been for thousands of years. If I convert $1000 worth of intrinsically worthless Federal Reserve Notes paper into $1000 worth of REAL money silver, it is a terrifically good deal, IMHO.

Yes, that can be a problem but it is one that is easily understood. Cross border shipping is a genuine pain in the neck, so lots of places are either not willing to do it at all or they want to be paid for their extra effort. Not sure what the problems are but probably have to do with differences in shipping rules between USA and Canada requiring more forms or some such before the package can get from here to there. Both governments should address this so that shipping across the border is no different than shipping the same items in-country.
