Hi,I have liberty half dollar 1936 and on the back in front of the branch is the letter S but on the other end under the tail thair is a W. why is their two marks and what do they mean.

The 'S' is the mint where the coin was produced - San Francisco and the 'W' is the designer of the coin Weinman. The walkers are beautiful coins!
