Last month I went to a coin show and purchesed a large pennyis it normal for it to be bronze?

Yes, they're bronze. Don't be angry or embarrassed asking questions like that on coins from other countries, I paid 50 cents for a worthless 1967 U.S. dime which I thought was silver, I just didn't know they were only silver before 1964. Nothing to be angry about, just another new information and a lesson learned.

In my memory, they are supposed to be bronze.
