Interesting video from the CBC National news archive on the introduction of the $2 coin.

Honestly, I don't recall anyone ever suggesting anything other than calling it a twoonie but I'm glad the coin wasn't issued with a perogy on it.

Yeah, they were really reaching on the "beary" comment. Stranger things have happened, but not recently :)
