I was wondering why the silver coins weigh 28.3 grams and not 31.1, since 31.1 is a troy ounce of silver. Normally silver rounds are a troy ounce of silver.
I think it has something to do with the fact that Great Britain crowns always weighed 28.28 grams. Therefore, the crown-size coins of the Commonwealth nations are still made to weigh the same. Just my guess, I am no expert.
