Just picked up a 1957 Lincoln Cent in XF. Nice coin with an error in the word Trust. The second " T " is missing completely. There seems to be no indication of any sort of die contact or a debris mark. Sorry for no pics, will have some soon as soon as I figure it out.

Your coin sounds like a filled die,, this is a prety common occurance and seldom carries any premium.

but pics would be good to confirm by sight what description you have given brings to mind.
