Nice set indeed.
I personally try to focus on the classics; UNC, Specimen and Proof sets. There are just too many of them now.

The big questions is: Did you get married in 2008?
I have never looked at those sets. Is the 25 cent piece coloured? And if so, is it the same print process they use on other coloured coins?

You should try to hunt down the 2008 proof wedding set, with the silver loon. Looks like the normal 2008 set, but with a white binder and a medallion in place of a the full-sized silver dollar. But, the normal loon is replaced with one struck in silver. Very low mintage of those silver loons for 2007 and 2008...

If you find two of the 2007 set, let me know, only about 849 issued.

I picked one up in September at a coin shop for $75. I wanted the loon, so I cracked apart the set. Now 848 remain...

Did the mint only issue the silver loonie in the 2007 & 2008 wedding sets?

@barriecarcon, I don't think it's only in the wedding set. I believe they also have the baby keepsake set. It's the wedding set that's in super low mintage. The silver dollar itself, I believe it's close to about 3,000 for 2008. Not sure about 2007.

For the baby sets w/ special loonies there is the 2006 with the Teddy Bear Moon, the 2007 with baby rattle, the 2007 with baby rattle with gold highlighting, the 2007 baby keepsake set with ABC blocks, and the 2008 silver loon. So in 2007, the silver loonie is only in the Wedding Set. In 2008 it's in both the Wedding Set and the Baby Set.

p.s. My wife goes gooey for all the coins in the 25c wedding series so I figure that at $10-$20 each, if it makes her more interested/tolerant of my coin collecting it's a good investment! Ditto for the baby series.
