I'm new to the world of coins, and forgive the picture, but I received an apparently double-struck penny when working at a coffee shop years ago and held on to it for the last 14 years. What's unusual to me is that one image on the penny is raised (like normal), and the other cuts into the penny. There's no double strike on the back. How on earth could that happen?
