Think I been looking at coins to much here lately! To me, it looks like there are flat spots on the rim above "Liberty" and maybe something irregular about the top of each letter. What do you all think?

Your coin was from a die in VLDS. (Very Late Die State) The wear is more evident on the outside devices. The area is starting to run together near the rim. Note the area near the mint mark in the fields. That is also heavy die flow. Also evidence of a worn die.
