I know, you're probably thinking, why do I care it's bullion!
but I'm trying to learn how to get better at this myself.

If you can help, thanks a bunch.

This would get more attention in the classic coins section.
I personally don't know how to grade Morgans.
Also I would check it for VAM's I showed the forum a 1921 Morgan that I have had for ever turns out to be a top100 VAM

VF-30 would be my vote. I would expect more wear on the wingtips for a VF-20.

Details wise this coin would probably be a high VF but it seems like there may be a significant amount of luster present which which is way more than any of the VF's and most lower EF's that I have seen. I think that the lack of details is not all from wear and at least some of it is due to strike. My feeling is this coin could be a weakly struck high EF or an AU.

Thanks to all for the input. I looked through some of the 1921S VAMS and couldn't find anything unique about this coin. It has the typical spike on the F and doubling on top left of both 1's.

It does indeed have an unusual amount of mint luster left which is what confused me in the first place. It is all over. Of course it's weak in the middle of the field and the luster is very strong in between tightly raised highpoints.

Because of the weak high points, especially the eagle's breast and good luster, I thought it might be a heavily polished die. But there are no pronounced polishing scratches.

... I do have a 100mm macro lens if anyone is interested in attributing it
