Hello
I thank all of you for the help with the demetrius coin I had here last week. I sent the info to the owner and I am sure he does not want to believe it is a copy. anyway he sent me somemore that were suppossed to be handed down as an inheritance in the group. I will add them here and see what you folks know about them. As I said I am a below newbie stage with coins. (you want to know about rough diamonds then I can help you.
so here are the 6 coins and I wait to hear from you when you can find the time.

Hey again! I suspect that images 2 and 3 are possibly intended to be a Bactria coin of Euthydemos. I can't quite read the inscription.
As with the previous one, this copy doesn't quite match the workmanship of an original:

The last coin is a cast copy of a dekadrachm from Syracuse. Copies stand out easily because the originals are such exceptional quality. That, and the big casting bubbles on the surface.

I know next to nothing about these coins, but IMHO if the first coin is suspect, that makes all the coins from this seller suspect to me and I would stay away. The last coin posted shows signs of casting too as the surface or fabric is all wrong.

IMO I would contact the seller and thank them for offering you the coins, and tell them you are not interested. Until you get some more knowledge I would stick to buying from established dealers like the ones on Vcoins.

Not to come across as negative, but most likely they are all copies--and modern ones at that. I only spoke for coins I'm familiar with. Authentic Syracuse and Bactrian coins are very expensive now, and should only be purchased from a trusted dealer.
