I picked up a few bucks FV of 90% dimes recently from Provident. It was my first buy from them and it went well. As a coin collector who also stacks silver, it was the best of both worlds. I filled 2 holes in my Merc album and 4 in my Roosie album. Also included was a 1963 proof, has to be PF63-64.

Quote: After about a month, he traded the lot at a Paris bank for face value in francs. He sent me a postcard expressing profound relief for finally unloading his burdensome cargo. I heard and read similar stories about several countries, and always doubted them. After all, how difficult would it be for a local dealer with a following to import a few bags and take out some big ads?

Ed I am special that is why I got the Special 100% JFK half's. Yeah my fingers were moving faster than my brain. Now if my HS girls varsity basketball team could score 100% of the time I would be set.

Yeah, I think that we all have that problem from time to time. Somehow, this silly computer thinks that *I* press the wrong keys sometimes. Personally, I think that it is some kind of a computer bug!

Hey throwbackid, nice to see the bundle of $100.00's on the table. You all have great looking collections. Too bad every time in the past there was a need for money to pay the bills, out went the coins. I am going to a coin show here in Pittsburgh the end of the month. Hopefully I will have a few new pieces to show off.

Yes sir, I do cut it close sometimes, more like trading one addiction for another. Picked this beauty from my shop this morning don't know how long she will stay. Payed right at $1,500 so as of right now a no-brainer. Have fun at the show I really must get back into my Morgan album, so much further to go I just prefer bullion right now.

Nice TBK! Last night on storage hunters, they did a rare lost plane bagage auction I guess is what it was. The second truck set was the one to win, as the wife an husband team won it for 1700 or so. One of the first suitcases they opened had a similar value Krugerand 1 oz. in it. The bald crazy guy that does the auctions said...."You know what you got there, a 1 oz. Kruger, gold"
The guy that won the auction of suitcases said...."Well then if this is an oz. of gold, it paid for the cost of the auction, and everything else is just profit off the top."
It turned out to be 5 grand worth of cleared profit. Man it kills me every time I see them find a gold or silver in a locker, suitcase auction, boat freight auction, whatever.....
Oh yes the bags with the gold was from South Africa, hence the Krugerrand. And two of the suit cases themselves were REAL Louie V bags, worth about 2 grand each seems like, most of the profit from the buy. They were the only ones smart enough to look them over an confirm they were real, so they new they had 4 grand worst case....

Yeah, shows like that are a lot more exciting than those where the people pay $2000 and end up with about 1000 lbs. of useless junk. VERY nice addition, TBK! Picking that up for $1500 was outstanding.

I really like the diamonds. I have had the opportunity to buy them a few times but I just don't know enough about them to make money on them.

Theres something new, I too have had the chance to sell a few Diamonds but currently don't own any. I do have a few nice cut pieces of amethyst from some gold rings I parted with over the summer.

Quote: I have had the opportunity to buy them a few times but I just don't know enough about them to make money on them. Maybe not, TBK, but backing away from that was very smart on your part. Successfully Investing in anything requires a fair bit of knowledge about the items you are investing in. If you don't have that knowledge, someone else who does can take a good chunk of your money. Of course, if you find this kind of investing sufficiently interesting, then go ahead and learn all you can about it before putting any hard earned money at risk. I'm sure that there are ways to make a lot of money in the diamond business. I have no clue on how to do that, though, so I steer clear of it. I do know that diamonds are not especially rare as gems go and that it is only via cartel control of the market that they have the value that they do.
