Hi Folks
Purchased this medal. When checking it I noticed that the date 1945 looks like it was stamped over another date of 1941. I know it's not a big deal just curiosity, but is this common on these type of medals. Sorry about the pictures but it was the best I could manage. Thanks for any info.

You're right it does look like 1941. But wonder why they would have had 1941 since the battle of Iwo Jima happened only in '45. Or it could just be strange doubling.
