I found this penny in a old penny arcade bag. It looks like the same metal as a Jefferson nickel. Not sure if it is a fake or not.

My guess would be that it's been plated with some other metal.

You can go to google and search videos on how to change the color of a penny to silver and then gold. I ran across the videos by mistake when searching for info on a penny I have. Its all chemical reaction.
